Re/dis/assemble: A Site-Specific Exploration

Re/dis/assemble is a unique clothing collection created from discarded raw materials collected within a 100-meter radius of the designer’s studio during the COVID-19 quarantine. Finalized through a dance performance at Ha Empty Space Gallery in Neve Tzedek, Israel, after restrictions were lifted, this collection examines our emotional connections to objects and explores how shared experiences can foster these bonds.

The project utilized upcycled materials gathered from the streets of Tel Aviv, draped and transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces. These garments were then worn by three dancers who interacted with natural dyes in the gallery space, allowing the collection to be organically dyed without further intervention from the designer. This approach embraced a straightforward, almost childlike method of garment creation, focusing on intuitive draping and playful use of food-based dyes.
